Beauty Bit: Spring's Trendy Nail Colors

Howdy folks! The sun is out and I can actually feel the Vitamin D seeping into my skin! That slight exaggeration should serve as proof of how ecstatic I am that it's actually warm outside! I took advantage of this much-awaited weather to have a little 'ME time.' I had my hair done, my eyebrows shaped and I bought a few new nail polish colors. {Nails done, hair done. Everything did. Oh you fancy, huh?} Seriously, it's all about life's little luxuries. In the meantime though, I put together a collage of all my favorite Spring 2012 nail colors (everything from pops of color to metallics to neutrals). From mint and pistachio greens to the oranges inspired by Pantone's color of the season (Tangerine Tango) this spring is filled with tons of choices (many of which I will experimenting with very soon, so stay tuned!). There are also the the new kind of blues that range from navy to baby blue to turquoise that can easily be used well into the next season. Pink lovers are in luck because everything from warm pastels to bright neons (think Fuchsia) to pale tones (check out that OPI Dulce de Leche for God's Sake) is in style. You can also brighten up any outfit with all shades of yellow (again, anything from pastel hues to eye-popping neons). Don't forget the purples as they can translate beautifully onto any pair of hands, courtesy of the range of shades (from muted lilacs to dark velvets). Finally, and just because it's spring, it doesn't mean you can throw away those neutral colors. Start thinking beiges, 'barely there' nudes and skin-colored shades - You can't go wrong with names like Frilly Knickers, Cream Puff and Bubble Bath! And finally, all these colors come in glitter form, so don't be afraid to finish with some sparkles!

  7. I am so boring with my nail polish, and that's when I put some on. I usually stick to a nude color, red, navy blue, or black. If I'm feeling rather festive I'll add a touch of glitter ;-)

  12. I used to always go to get my nails done but since the nail industry has taken off so much in the last year I find myself constantly doing my nails... like a few times a week... is that a problem :)?
